Loudoun County’s transformation in recent decades from a rural county dominated by farms and equestrian facilities to a wealthy, fast-growing region for high-tech businesses has been accompanied by the expansion of housing development.

With household incomes among the highest in the nation, developers have focused on some parts of this county, providing upscale residences.



While planned communities along Virginia Route 7 and U.S. 50 corridors have been in place for a decade or more, residential development is now occurring in the less-populated northern section of Loudoun County, bordered by the Potomac River, Route 7 and the West Virginia line.

A few communities are under development adjacent to U.S. 15 between Leesburg and Lucketts.

Raspberry Falls Golf and Hunt Club, a golf course community with views of the Blue Ridge mountains, is a resort-style development with swimming, tennis and golf. Marquis Custom Homes, a division of Van Metre Homes, is building custom houses on half-acre and 1-acre sites priced from $795,900 and higher.
