Luxurious homes priced at $1,500,000 and higher are common in some of the Washington area’s
most upscale neighborhoods, but few rival the superluxurious estate homes built by Creighton Enterprises, a family-owned custom home builder. Last fall, Creighton Enterprises Inc. opened a model home at Grenata in Leesburg to showcase the possibilities for potential clients.
The 3- to 6-acre homesites at Grenata and custom homes, of which approximately 30 are left, are base-priced from $1,599,990, but the sky is the limit for custom home buyers.
Nearby, Creighton Farms is also building estate homes on 3- to 4-acre sites at Barclay Woods priced from $1,599,990 and on 3- to 6-acre sites at Creighton Farms, where the prices start at $3,000,000. Creighton Enterprises is also building homes at Thunder Oak in Haymarket on 10-acre homesites, where prices begin at $1,599,990.
Each of the Loudoun County developments offers residents the opportunity to use facilities at the River Chase Equestrian Club, while residents at Thunder Oak can relish mountain and wooded views. The large homesites in each community provide privacy for each home.
At Creighton Enterprises, buyers work with members of the Brown family to design their dream home, tailoring each home to the desires of the buyers. The model home at Grenata highlights some of the high-quality custom features that Creighton Enterprises can include in the homes they design and build for their customers.
With more than 12,000 finished square feet, this model home has a French Country, chateau-style exterior with elaborate detailing in many of the rooms. The grand, two-story foyer, framed by two staircases that both lead to the upper and lower levels, includes custom moldings and columns, with a second-floor balcony overlooking the space.
Archways and columns line the upper-level gallery, which has wrought-iron railings and overlooks the two-story foyer and the two-story great room. The great room has one of the home’s seven fireplaces, and walls of windows on three sides with French doors leading to the rear deck.
Just beyond the great room is the open casual dining room, center-island kitchen and gathering room, which has a deep bay window and a corner fireplace open on two sides to warm the entire area.
The kitchen has a large island, two dishwashers, three ovens and a butler’s pantry. Nearby are the family entry to the home, off the covered front porch, which has a walk-in pantry, a door to the three-car garage and an area of lockers. Just past the kitchen are a full bath, a laundry room and a rear staircase to the upper level.
The formal rooms of this home flank the foyer, including a dining room with a fireplace and elaborate moldings. A formal powder room is nearby. Across the foyer is an intimate parlor with a fireplace. The nearby library has cherry-paneled walls and a fireplace, along with a glass door to a second deck.
The first-floor master suite features a separate sitting room with a private deck, a fireplace and columns, a spacious bedroom and a luxurious dressing area and bath with two walk-in closets, a walk-through shower, a tub and two separate vanities.
Above the master suite on the second floor is a guest suite with a bedroom, a separate sitting room, a walk-in closet and a bath with a tub, a separate shower and two separate vanities. Two more bedrooms on this level each have a walk-in closet and private bath. The upper level also includes a second laundry room and a children’s study.
The lower level includes a second foyer with fieldstone and stained wood, a home theater and a recreation room/game room with multiple television screens and a stone and wood bar. Nearby is a wine tasting room with an adjacent wine cellar. The lower level also includes a sauna, a steam shower, an exercise room and a flexible space for use as a bedroom or nanny suite.
The model home’s handcrafted wood trim and moldings stand out for their old-world quality, but the high-tech elements in this home are also noteworthy. A command center in the lower level links seven miles of wiring to speakers in each room and television sets to a system that stores thousands of movies, music and other programming that can all be accessed by remote controls.
