The Washington Times - April 27, 2011, 11:55PM

It’s not Yanni, but an arena conflict is forcing the Capitals and Lightning to play back-to-back nights in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The series starts Friday night at Verizon Center at 7 p.m. and Game 2 is Sunday at the same time. The Caps will likely practice Monday at Kettler and travel to Tampa later in the day.

Game 3 is set for Tuesday night at St. Pete Times Forum, while Game 4 will be Wednesday night. Game 4 cannot be Thursday because the arena is booked for the University of South Florida’s spring commencement ceremonies. The school’s on-campus arena is being refurbished, so this is the first year USF’s graduation is at the Forum.

With the Kentucky Derby taking place on Saturday, May 7, Game 5 (if necessary) back at Verizon Center will take place at 12:30 p.m. and be shown on NBC.

Also if necessary, Game 6 back in Florida would be Monday, May 9. Game 7 would take place Wednesday, May 11.
