Alex Ovechkin not on ice for morning skate

← return to Capitals Watch

Every Capitals player expected to be in the lineup for Friday night’s Game 1 against the Tampa Bay Lightning skated in the morning at Kettler in Arlington except Alex Ovechkin.

But don’t worry – this is normal. Morning skates are optional, and Ovechkin took his option as usual. Again, don’t panic.

But also don’t expect Mike Knuble and Dennis Wideman to play Friday night. Neither skated with the team and both have been with the “Black Aces” for much of the week on the other sheet of ice.
