Honest Dennis Wideman as Honest Abe Lincoln: Photoshop collection

Dennis Wideman knew right away he didn’t deserve a hat trick.

“I think you would’ve gotten a little bigger celebration out of me if it was actually my third goal,” he admitted.

But the Washington Capitals defenseman asked the league to review it, knowing it would be awarded to Brooks Laich. He wasn’t just going to take the honor.

“You know, if you get one, you want it to be honest,” he said. “You don’t want a cheap one.”

With that “honest” line, I asked readers to come up with PhotoShopped photos of Wideman as “Honest Abe,” our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. Here are the results:
