Capitals Morning Skate Update: More of same vs. Flyers

← return to Capitals Watch

No changes for the Capitals Tuesday night.

Actually, Washington will probably trot out the same lineup against the Philadelphia Flyers as it used Saturday in the win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Matt Hendricks will miss his third straight game with a right knee injury.

“The team’s doing a great job. Everyone’s playing well right now and winning games is more important,” Hendricks said recently. “We’re feeling pretty good about ourselves right now. Not where we want to be in the standings, but we’re playing better hockey.”

Jeff Schultz is expected to be the healthy scratch on defense.

Lines from practice:

Alex Ovechkin – Nicklas Backstrom – Alexander Semin

Troy Brouwer – Marcus Johansson – Jeff Halpern

Jason Chimera – Brooks Laich – Joel Ward

Cody Eakin – Mathieu Perreault – Mike Knuble

Projected defensive pairings:

Karl Alzner – John Carlson

John Erskine – Dennis Wideman

Roman Hamrlik – Dmitry Orlov

Tomas Vokoun will start against the Flyers. Ilya Bryzgalov gets the nod for Philadelphia.
