Mathieu Perreault didn’t fly back with the Washington Capitals on Monday night, but the 23-year-old forward did rejoin the team Tuesday morning.

Perreault flew back from Buffalo early Tuesday and was on the ice with the rest of his teammates, centering the fourth line as he has been doing for weeks. Perreault suffered an upper-body injury in the third period against the Sabres when his own stick struck him in the midsection in a collision with Christian Ehrhoff in the corner.

Perreault took three shifts after that, including one in which he was whistled for a charging penalty.
