Friday presented potentially good and potentially not-so-good news for the Washington Capitals on the injury front.

Jay Beagle (concussion) joined his teammates on the ice for the Caps’ morning skate, while Mike Green (groin) and Matt Hendricks (knee) did not skate.

This was the first time Beagle skated with teammates since getting knocked out in a fight with Arron Asham Oct. 13.

Hendricks has not skated since Monday. He played 4:22 in a loss to the Panthers that night but not at all in the third period. The team is calling him day-to-day with a lower-body injury, but it was revealed that the forward’s issue was with his knee.

Green had skated four straight days – light workouts, nothing too strenuous – and said Thursday there was nothing new to report as far as an update. A team spokesman said Green did not skate by himself before Friday’s morning skate.

Not on the ice, Green wrote on Twitter at about 10:20: “Anyone know someone that wants to sell a volkswagen bus I want to travel cross country after we win the cup.”

Roman Hamrlik was on the ice and seems to be in the lineup.

“It feels better today, and see how I feel tomorrow. It was good skate, it feels much better than last night,” Hamrlik said Thursday. “You can’t just look at a hat and say, ‘This is today, I want to play.’ Every body’s different. I feel better and see what’s the coach make the decision tomorrow. I feel pretty good.”
