It’s hard to tell much about a player after about an hour on the ice – especially in July and especially when it’s 23-year-old Mattias Sjogren playing against guys who are much younger.

But one thing Bruce Boudreau knows his Sjogren’s pain tolerance and toughness. The forward left the ice early in Monday afternoon’s practice session at Capitals development camp with an apparent face injury.

“A minute in, I’m going, ‘Are you kidding me?’ he went around the net and I think the goalie’s stick came up and knocked out a tooth and welcome to North America,” Boudreau said with a laugh.

He was back shortly after.

“He knocked out a tooth, loosened another one but he wanted to get back out there – full marks for that,” Boudreau said.
