A day before the Bruins and Canucks wrap up the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Capitals announced their offseason schedule, which includes prospect camp, a fan festival and the annual convention.

Most pressing to hockey itself is the Caps’ development camp, which will take place July 11-16 at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington. And while Evgeni Kuznetsov and newly signed Mattias Sjogren won’t be there, the likes of Cody Eakin and Dmitri Orlov probably will be. It’s open to the public all week.

July 16 will include a scrimmage at 10 a.m., games for fans, a free open skate and autograph sessions (the team announced it as Matt Hendricks and other players to be determined.)

The “Baltimore Hockey Classic” at 1st Mariner Arena – an exhibition game against the Predators – is Sept. 20. The annual Capitals Convention takes place at the Washington Convention Center on Sept. 24.
