MONTREAL – Eric Fehr just smiled and said, “I’m good to go.”

The Capitals winger who missed Friday night’s game at the Senators with injury is expected to be back in the lineup Saturday night at the Canadiens.

“I’m excited to be back, and hopefully we can get a better result than last night, he said.

It’s believed to be a shoulder injury that sidelined Fehr (again), though he and the team won’t admit it. D.J. King took his place at Ottawa and played just 5:13.

In general injury news looks to be taking a turn for the Caps.

“We got a couple guys that are gonna be coming back in the next couple days or weeks,” Fehr said. “Hopefully everything will come together right for the stretch.”

A couple guys – that means Alex Ovechkin, Jason Arnott, Mike Green and Tom Poti.

“I’m guessing, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Ovie and Arnott are practicing full gear with us on Monday,” the Caps’ coach said. “Green hopefully – my hope is by the last three games of the season. And Tom Poti, we keep forgetting that he’s almost ready to play again.”

There has been no official timetable for any of the players, though Boudreau estimated Arnott and Ovechkin’s returns could happen by the end of next week.

For now, the Caps close out this road trip without those two, Green and Poti, but with Fehr, who was all smiles about being back.
