While the Tampa Bay Lightning play on in the Eastern Conference Finals the Capitals hoped they’d be participating in, Washington made a minor move with an eye toward 2011-12.

The team and its top minor league affiliate, the Hershey Bears, announced the re-signing of Zach Miskovic to a one-year deal.

Miskovic, a 26-year-old defenseman, had seven goals (a career high) and nine assists in 58 games with Hershey of the American Hockey League last season.

Miskovic listed by Hockey’s Future as the 15th-ranked prospect in the organization, which he has been a part of for two years.
