Apparently the NHL has become the NBA, as the Stanley Cup Finals will start after a four-day break from hockey and could last until June 15. The Capitals aren’t involved, but here’s a look at the last series of the playoffs – and last NHL action until September – that may or may not include the team that swept Washington out:
Game 1: Weds. June 1, at Canucks, 8 p.m. TV: NBC
Game 2: Sat. June 4, at Canucks, 8 p.m. TV: NBC
Game 3: Mon. June 6, at Bruins/Lightning, 8 p.m. TV: Versus
Game 4: Weds. June 8, at Bruins/Lightning, 8 p.m. TV: Versus
Game 5*: Fri. June 10, at Canucks, 8 p.m. TV: NBC
Game 6*: Mon. June 13, at Bruins/Lightning, 8 p.m. TV: NBC
Game 7*: Weds. June 15, at Canucks, 8 p.m. TV: NBC
*-If necessary
And for Caps fans looking for the next date to circle on the calendar, how about June 24? That’s when the NHL Entry Draft begins, and I’ll be reporting live from St. Paul, Minn. Until then, enjoy the final few weeks of the 2010-11 season.
