Now that Henrik and Daniel Sedin are eight Canucks victories away from capturing the Stanley Cup, it’s worth wondering just how successful brother combinations have been in the NHL’s playoffs.
The Sedins have played 78 playoff games together, the most of any brother combination, passing Brent and Duane Sutter with Game 6 on Monday night. But there’s work to be done to get onto this list:
Brothers who have won the Stanley Cup together
Maurice and Henri Richard, 1955-1960 Canadiens (five Cups)
Brent and Duane Sutter, 1982 and 1983 Islanders
Joe and Jimmy Watson, 1974 and 1975 Flyers
Sylvio and Georges Mantha, 1930 and 1931 Canadiens
Odie and Sprague Cleghorn, 1924 Canadiens
Neil and Mac Colville, 1940 Rangers
Lynn and Muzz Patrick, 1940 Rangers
Bill and Bun Cook, 1928 and 1933 Rangers
Nick and Don Metz, 1945 and 1947 Leafs
Jean and Denis Potvin, 1981 Islanders
Scott and Rob Niedermayer, 2007 Ducks
