NEWARK, N.J. | Matt Hendricks has been in a chipper mood lately, and now we know why. His wife, Kim, gave birth Thursday to twins, a boy named Gunnar and a girl named Lennon.
"My mother's 100 percent Swede, so Gunnar stands for a Scandinavian warrior," Hendricks said after Saturday's game. "With Lennon, we're both fans of the Beatles and John Lennon and we liked it and it wasn't very popular and didn't seem too over the top.
Hendricks was not with the Capitals in Newark on Friday, but joined them in the afternoon after taking train up.
He was in the lineup against the Devils.
