On Monday night, the face of the NHL is set to return, as the Pittsburgh Penguins announced Sidney Crosby will be in the lineup against the New York Islanders.

It will have been 10 months and 16 days since Crosby last laced up the skates in a game. The last two times he played, Crosby took hits from Victor Hedman and David Steckel and hasn’t played since with post-concussion symptoms.

He was cleared for contact Oct. 13, the last time the Penguins faced the Capitals.

“To get him back, it’ll be awesome,” defenseman Deryk Engelland said at the time. “Who knows when it’s going to be, but one of the best players in the world. He’s a lot of fun to watch and he creates a lot. So I can’t wait for him to come back.”

The Penguins visit the Caps on Dec. 1.
