Brooks Laich hates hearing about tire story

Brooks Laich earned a new level of fame in April 2010 when he stopped to change a family’s tire – after the Capitals lost Game 7 of their first-round series to the Montreal Canadiens.

It’s something that is brought up often now when Laich is, a symbolic moment that shows people can be people even after less-than-ideal results.

Laich does get tired of all the talk, because he didn’t do anything his brother, Jordan, wouldn’t have done in the same spot.

“I hate the fact that I got notoriety for it because my brother, who’s probably done that a thousand times, and is a better man than me, has never made the paper for it,” Laich said. “It, For myself, is sort of embarrassing when people talk about it because I don’t think it’s notoriety that’s really deserved.”

Notoriety is perhaps better deserved for his all-around game on the ice, which is documented here.
