Mike Green skated on his own for the third time in four days, very good news for the Capitals.

General manager George McPhee said there was no timetable for a return to the lineup. Green did not speak to reporters, leaving Kettler Capitals Iceplex while Olie Kolzig was holding court.

At the Caps’ morning skate, the lines were back to what most would consider normal in advance of Dale Hunter’s first game as coach:

Alex Ovechkin – Nicklas Backstrom – Troy Brouwer

Cody Eakin – Marcus Johansson – Alexander Semin

Jason Chimera – Brooks Laich – Joel Ward

Matt Hendricks – Jeff Halpern – Mike Knuble

The first power play unit featured Alex Ovechkin, Alexander Semin and Mike Knuble up front and Brooks Laich and Dmitry Orlov at the points. Hunter said he liked Orlov’s mobility at that spot.

Jeff Schultz and Mathieu Perreault are set to be healthy scratches. Tomas Vokoun will start in goal.

John Erskine will return to the lineup after missing four games.

“Yeah, I’m good to go,” he said.
