Jay Beagle was hopeful that he’d be practicing with the Capitals very soon after making his first appearance back on the ice Friday. That wasn’t the case Monday.

Every player on the active roster participated, but not Beagle, who is on the injured list trying to work back from a concussion. There was no immediate reason to believe this represented any setback, as the 26-year-old does need to clear multiple steps to progress further.
