Bruce Boudreau insisted the “comfort” would change if the Capitals felt too good about a hot start.

There was no comfort at Wednesday’s practice, as the Caps were bag-skated following a 5-2 loss to the Dallas Stars. They went through suicide sprints at first, then one-on-one battles along the boards.

Puck battles were a main reason Boudreau gave for the loss.

“It was getting knocked off the puck by other guys,” he said postgame. “And we have to get stronger in that department, and we have to start winning those battles.”

After some drills, some Caps players were back to suicide sprints. Every player on the active roster participated.
