It sure seems like Michal Neuvirth will return to the Capitals lineup Thursday in Edmonton.
Coach Bruce Boudreau hinted that Neuvirth was told he’d get the start but tried to pull back on that declaration when speaking with reporters.
Asked about striking a balance between Neuvirth coming back and Tomas Vokoun staying on a roll, Boudreau dropped his hint.
“I told him that he’s probably starting Thursday, just take what you need tomorrow,” Boudreau said Tuesday afternoon. “He’s got to work hard like everybody else the first two days and whatever he needs tomorrow to get ready for Thursday, get ready.”
Then asked if he was referring to Neuvirth, Boudreau responded that he “told one of them.”
Neuvirth (bruised heel) hasn’t practiced since Oct. 10 when a shot during the morning skate struck him awkwardly. Since, Vokoun has reeled off six straight victories.
