In Edmonton after a week of line consistency, Mike Knuble said, “I wouldn’t change a thing, either.”
Two losses later, the Capitals are set to have a much different look, including Knuble possibly on the fourth line.
Bruce Boudreau shook up his lines during Saturday’s 7-4 loss to the Canucks in Vancouver and did so again for Monday’s practice. The fourth line is where Knuble finished Saturday’s game.
Mike Green missed his seventh straight practice with a twisted right ankle. He still has a bit of a limp, though less than before. John Erskine took part, wearing a normal defenseman’s jersey. Jay Beagle was out again as well.
The defensemen rotated around, though the pairing of Karl Alzner and John Carlson stayed together. It’ll take a skid worse than two games to break them up.
When doing rushes, it was still Roman Hamrlik with Dennis Wideman and Jeff Schultz with Sean Collins.
The lines:
Alex Ovechkin - Nicklas Backstrom - Troy Brouwer
Jason Chimera - Marcus Johansson - Alexander Semin
Matt Hendricks - Brooks Laich - Joel Ward
D.J. King/Mathieu Perreault - Jeff Halpern - Mike Knuble
