It’s not often that a reigning Hart Trophy-winner spends the evening before a road game shaving a teammate.

But that’s exactly what happened Monday at The Art Of Shaving on Connecticut Avenue, as the Anaheim Ducks were there getting clean shaves as part of a promotional event for “Movember,” which involves growing mustaches for a month to raise prostate cancer awareness.

George Parros, the tough guy known for his eccentric facial hair, got some help from NHL MVP Corey Perry to get rid of his mustache and more. Several teammates also got shaved, and Teemu Selanne even bought a $60 trimmer to celebrate.

For Parros, this is a chance to take a turn in the spotlight – while benefiting Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong Foundation and more.

“That was the big thing last year. It was the first time I shaved it – we did it for TSN. It’s easy for me to grow a ‘stache during Movember because it’s obviously already there,” he said. “So we figured we’d going to turn a lot more heads if we shave and do it on camera. I think we accomplished that, and hopefully we’ll turn even more heads this year.”
