Tuesday’s practice might have been a chance for Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau to send a “message” to a player or two. But it seems Wednesday was a practice where there was some movement with Alex Ovechkin out, attending to his family in Moscow after the death of an uncle.

That meant Marcus Johansson moving to first-line left wing. Everything else is similar.
