NASHVILLE, Tenn. | Braden Holtby’s stint in Hershey, this time, was very brief.

He will be recalled Thursday to rejoin the Capitals, his agent, David Kaye, told The Washington Times.

A team spokesman confirmed later Wednesday night that Holtby will practice with the Caps Thursday and gave this reason: “Neuvirth is nursing a minor injury and for precautionary reasons will be given a day off.”

After the Caps’ 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators, Bruce Boudreau brushed off concerns.

“He’s fine. He’s just got, again, a tightness thing and we’re not going to take any chances with him. He was scheduled to play Friday,” the coach said. “We’ll probably rest him and play him Sunday.”

That’s why we’re bringing Braden up tomorrow.

Neuvirth last played Monday at Verizon Center and looked sharp. He was on the bench for Wednesday’s game and took warm-ups.
