As of Sunday, Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli was not optimistic about Nathan Horton returning anytime soon after suffering a concussion Jan. 22.

“He’s quite far off right now. I know he’s skating,” Chiarelli said. “He’s had little bouts here and there of post-concussion symptoms. … I’m not going to rule him out yet, but I think it’s a long shot.”

Wednesday, the Bruins did rule Horton out, announcing he would miss the entire playoffs.

Horton had 17 goals and 15 assists in a career-low 46 games this season for the Bruins.
