It was like taking attendance in school: Roman Hamrlik? Here. Mike Knuble? Here. Washington Capitals players stepped onto the ice for Monday morning’s practice ahead of the 3 p.m. trade deadline and no one was missing.

Every player on the active roster, including both veterans who could be on the move, were on the ice. Stragglers stepped on late, like Joel Ward and Jason Chimera, but it seemed at least at 10:30 a.m. that no one had been traded.

Even more so, Knuble was wearing a red jersey and skating rushes on the first line with Alex Ovechkin and Marcus Johansson. The 39-year-old veteran right wing has been a healthy scratch five times in the past nine games.

Dmitry Orlov was back to a regular visor after struggling with a full face cage in recent weeks.

Lines:

Alex Ovechkin - Marcus Johansson - Mike Knuble

Matt Hendricks - Brooks Laich - Troy Brouwer

Jason Chimera - Mathieu Perreault - Alexander Semin

Jay Beagle - Jeff Halpern - Joel Ward
