Tomas Vokoun was the first Washington Capitals player off the ice at Monday’s practice. Ordinarily, that would be either no big deal or reason to ask if the goaltender was injured.

But with the 3 p.m. trade deadline looming, it was curious. Yet Vokoun made it clear that nothing was wrong, either with his health or otherwise.

“Practice was over and they told me it was just power play and they were doing one end, so they told me to go back,” Vokoun said.

Vokoun had a conversation with assistant coach Jim Johnson before leaving.

He insisted he was not injured.

Vokoun has a full no-movement clause in his one-year, $1.5 million contract, but the 35-year-old said he has not considered waiving it or been asked by the Caps to do so.

“I haven’t even thinking about it. They didn’t approach me, so I’m not going to speculate on that,” he said. “I didn’t give it any thought and I’m not expecting it.”
