Capitals morning skate update: Brooks Laich back?

← return to Capitals Watch

Brooks Laich is back, even though he didn’t really go far. Sure, the Washington Capitals’ most versatile forward suffered a left knee injury Sunday against the Boston Bruins and had a doctor visit Monday, but he was on the ice Tuesday as the team prepared for its game against the Florida Panthers.

Laich skated in full pads less than 48 hours since hobbling out of Verizon Center on crutches. He took part in rushes on the fourth line, but he didn’t appear to have any limitations while skating. It was not immediately clear whether he would be in the lineup against Florida.

Lines:

Alex Ovechkin - Marcus Johansson - Troy Brouwer

Jason Chimera - Mathieu Perreault - Alexander Semin

Matt Hendricks - Jeff Halpern - Joel Ward

Brooks Laich - Keith Aucoin - Mike Knuble - Jay Beagle
