Brooks Laich said Wednesday his knee held up “really well” after playing 9:28 against the Florida Panthers. And though he took a “maintenance day” off the ice the morning after, the Washington Capitals forward was back out there for Thursday’s morning skate.

Laich was one of the first players on the ice as the Caps prepared to play the Winnipeg Jets. He was again skating on the fourth line between Jay Beagle and Keith Aucoin. Mike Knuble is set to be a healthy scratch for the first time since late 2010, when he was rested down the stretch.

Dennis Wideman was back on the ice after a maintenance day as well, and Mike Green skated for the third straight day in full pads. This was Green’s seventh day on the ice since undergoing sports hernia surgery Jan. 17.
