Jason Chimera has 14 goals, tied for second on the Washington Capitals. Yet on Friday night he skated on the fourth line.
Chimera, one of the surprises for the Caps this season as he’s approaching his career high in goals, played 9:53 in the 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. That’s his second lowest total of the season.
But at Saturday’s practice, all was back to normal with Chimera skating on a line with Jeff Halpern and Joel Ward.
Here are the full lines:
Alex Ovechkin - Marcus Johansson - Alexander Semin
Mike Knuble - Brooks Laich - Troy Brouwer
Jason Chimera - Jeff Halpern - Joel Ward
Matt Hendricks - Cody Eakin - Jay Beagle - (Mathieu Perreault)
D-pairs:
Karl Alzner - John Carlson
Dmitry Orlov - Dennis Wideman
Roman Hamrlik - Tomas Kundratek
