Capitals morning skate: Life without Green continues

← return to Capitals Watch

The morning after the Washington Capitals announced Mike Green would miss four to six weeks with abdominal surgery, everything was business as usual.

Here are the lines from the morning skate:

Alex Ovechkin - Marcus Johansson - Alexander Semin

Mike Knuble - Brooks Laich - Troy Brouwer

Jason Chimera - Jeff Halpern - Joel Ward

Matt Hendricks - Cody Eakin - Jay Beagle - Mathieu Perreault

D-pairs:

Karl Alzner - John Carlson

Dmitry Orlov - Dennis Wideman

Roman Hamrlik - Tomas Kundratek

For the first time in a while, who starts in goal is a question. Tomas Vokoun is 7-2-0 in nine straight starts with a 1.97 goals-against average and .940 save percentage. But with a back-to-back against the New York Islanders and then at the Montreal Canadiens, it’s possible Michal Neuvirth gets one of the starts.
