MONTREAL | Dave Prior’s in the house at Bell Centre and Michal Neuvirth gets the start for the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night at the Montreal Canadiens.

It’s Neuvirth’s first start in 11 games, dating to Dec. 26 when he was pulled after allowing three goals on six shots at the Buffalo Sabres. On the season the 23-year-old is 5-7-2 with a 3.23 goals-against average and .886 save percentage.

“It’s pretty tough, but I’m trying to work hard,” Neuvirth said Monday. “I’m staying on the ice extra every after practice.”

Tomas Vokoun went 7-3-0 in 10 straight starts, but a loss Tuesday and back-to-back scheduling opened the door for Neuvirth.
