Four red jerseys at Washington Capitals practice Monday morning was a good sign in that Marcus Johansson was back on the ice after missing Sunday’s game at the Pittsburgh Penguins with an illness.

But having Johansson, Mathieu Perreault, Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin skating as top-line players seemed to be more of a preparation for Tuesday’s game - one the Caps could have to play without their captain.

Ovechkin has a Monday afternoon hearing with NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan and could be suspended or at least fined for a hit on Zbynek Michalek on Sunday.

Here are the lines:

(Alex Ovechkin) / Marcus Johansson - Mathieu Perreault - Alexander Semin

Matt Hendricks - Brooks Laich - Troy Brouwer

Jason Chimera - Jeff Halpern - Mike Knuble

Jay Beagle - Cody Eakin - Joel Ward

All eight defensemen were on the ice.
