UNIONDALE, N.Y. | The Washington Capitals have won two straight with this lineup, so the ever-superstitious Dale Hunter isn’t making any changes for Tuesday night’s game at the New York Islanders.
Jeff Halpern will likely be a healthy scratch for the third straight game and John Erskine for the 15th straight game. Mike Green will serve the final game of his three-game suspension.
It’s unclear who will start in net, though it wouldn’t be surprising to go back to Michal Neuvirth, who shut out the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday. Neuvirth is 4-0-0 with a 1.37 goals-against average and .950 save percentage in his career against the Islanders.
Dale Hunter would not announce his starting goaltender Tuesday afternoon.
Evgeni Nabokov starts in goal for New York; PA Parenteau is out with an upper-body injury. Coach Jack Capuano said he would dress seven defensemen in warm-ups.
Caps’ lines and pairings:
Marcus Johansson - Brooks Laich - Alex Ovechkin
Jason Chimera - Mathieu Perreault - Alexander Semin
Matt Hendricks - Jay Beagle - Troy Brouwer
Mike Knuble - Keith Aucoin - Joel Ward
Karl Alzner - John Carlson
Jeff Schultz - Dennis Wideman
Roman Hamrlik - Dmitry Orlov
