Keith Aucoin didn’t hear from the Washington Capitals about a call-up for much of the season. He didn’t let it worry him as he went to another AHL All-Star Game. But the past five weeks have been a whirlwind:

Feb. 3: Caps recall Aucoin from Hershey Bears. At the time he led the American Hockey League in assists (59) and points (70).


Feb. 4: Aucoin makes season debut at Montreal, registering one shot in 7:57.

Feb. 14: Caps send Aucoin back to Hershey following three gams as a healthy scratch.

Feb. 22: Caps recall Aucoin from Hershey.

Feb. 25: Aucoin picks up first goal and assist of season in win at Toronto.

Feb. 26: Caps send Aucoin back to Hershey, making for salary cap space at deadline and allowing him to be eligible for Bears’ playoff roster.

Feb. 28: Caps recall Aucoin from Hershey, this time probably for good.

Feb. 29: Aucoin’s wife, Maureen, gives birth to their first son, Brayden Michael (photo).

March 13: Aucoin records three assists for his first three-point game in his NHL career.
