The NHL playoff schedule is out, and the Washington Capitals open their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the New York Rangers on Thursday at Verizon Center.

Game 1 is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, giving the Caps and Rangers each a four-day break before the start of the playoffs. Game 2 is Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The Caps and Rangers get a practice/travel day Sunday and resume the series with Game 3 Monday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. Game 4 is Wednesday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Game 5, if necessary, would be Friday, May 10 back at Verizon Center. Game 6 would be Sunday, May 12 at Madison Square Garden.

Taylor Swift is at Verizon Center May 11 and 12. Game 7, if necessary, would be Monday, May 13, meaning back-to-back games with travel involved. A similar situation happened with the Caps and Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2009 playoffs because of a Yanni concert.
