After a day off following their perfect Florida road trip, the Washington Capitals returned to practice Saturday in preparation for Sunday evening’s game at the New York Rangers.

Forward Marcus Johansson was not on the ice. The team has him listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Forward Brooks Laich (groin) skated with teammates yet again. There is no timetable on him making his season debut.

Defenseman Mike Green skated for about the first 15-20 minutes, then stepped off and went to the locker room. Roman Hamrlik replaced him on defensive rushes with Karl Alzner for the rest of practice.

Defenseman Jack Hillen, who’s out another 3-to-5 weeks with what appeared to be a shoulder injury, skated as well.

Braden Holtby figures to start at the Rangers after winning three in a row.

The Caps returned to the same lines that led to victories at the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning:

Wojtek Wolski - Nicklas Backstrom - Troy Brouwer

Jason Chimera - Mike Ribeiro - Alex Ovechkin

Eric Fehr - Mathieu Perreault - Joel Ward

Matt Hendricks - Jay Beagle - Joey Crabb

Karl Alzner - Mike Green

John Erskine - John Carlson

Jeff Schultz - Tomas Kundratek

Roman Hamrlik - Tom Poti
