Wojtek Wolski hasn’t registered a point in the past seven games and at Friday’s practice the left wing was demoted to the Washington Capitals’ third line amid some shuffling.

Following the 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils, Adam Oates sent Wolski down to the third line alongside Mathieu Perreault and Joel Ward, who have combined for 17 points. Wolski took one 42-second shift in the third period Thursday night, as Matt Hendricks got playing time in his place when Oates shortened his bench late.

Eric Fehr earned the promotion to the second line with Nicklas Backstrom and Troy Brouwer. Fehr, who has three goals and three assists in the past five games, skated with Backstrom and Brouwer in the final eight minutes Thursday night.

Previously, Wolksi-Backstrom-Brouwer was considered the first line. At Friday’s practice, it was the trio of Jason Chimera, Mike Ribeiro and Alex Ovechkin.

Defenseman Mike Green (lower-body injury) skated with teammates. Green has missed the past two games, and his status for Saturday afternoon’s game against the Devils is uncertain.

Forward Marcus Johansson (upper body) and defenseman Jack Hillen (upper body) skated as well. There’s no time frame for Johansson; Hillen is expected to be out at least another month. Hillen has not been cleared for contact.

Forward Brooks Laich (groin) did not skate, marking the sixth straight day he was not on the ice.

The defensive pairings were not immediately clear. Here’s a look at the lines:

Jason Chimera - Mike Ribeiro - Alex Ovechkin

Eric Fehr - Nicklas Backstrom - Troy Brouwer

Wojtek Wolski - Mathieu Perreault - Joel Ward

Matt Hendricks - Jay Beagle - Joey Crabb
