Capitals at Flyers: Lineups and more

PHILADELPHIA | Mike Green is good to go for the second half of back-to-back games Wednesday as the Washington Capitals visit the Flyers, coach Adam Oates said.

Green played 21:54 Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes, his first game back after missing three with a groin injury.

“I talked to him, and he said he felt pretty good; after a week off, a little sketchy early, but then he got into the game and he felt good,” Oates said.

With Green good to go, the Caps went with the same lineup at Philadelphia that they used against Carolina. That meant Jeff Schultz again sitting out as a healthy scratch.

Braden Holtby makes his eighth straight start in net. Rookie Philipp Grubauer was called up from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League to serve as the backup with Michal Neuvirth sick.

Ex-Caps right wing Mike Knuble was a healthy scratch for the Flyers. Simon Gagne is playing his first game since being traded back to Philadelphia from the Los Angeles Kings, skating on a line with Sean Couturier and Max Talbot.

Here are the Caps’ lines and pairings:

Jason Chimera - Mike Ribeiro - Alex Ovechkin

Eric Fehr - Nicklas Backstrom - Troy Brouwer

Wojtek Wolski - Mathieu Perreault - Joel Ward

Matt Hendricks - Jay Beagle - Joey Crabb

Karl Alzner - Mike Green

John Erskine - John Carlson

Tom Poti - Tomas Kundratek
