Monday’s lines at Capitals training camp were the same as they were Sunday, meaning still no Brooks Laich on the ice.

There’s no clear time frame for Laich, who said he had a “road map” to follow back from his injury. It’s an apparent groin problem, as first reported in Switzerland when the forward got hurt during the lockout.

Without Laich, the Caps again had Wojtek Wolski on the second line with Mike Ribeiro and Troy Brouwer.

Marcus Johansson remained on the top line with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom. More later on Ovechkin at right wing, but Johansson getting the chance on the first line is interesting, too.

“I like it. It’s fun,” Johansson said. “Those are fun guys to play with and play some offensive hockey, just keep your stick on the ice and get the puck.”

Coach Adam Oates’ reasoning was a need for speed.

“Ovi’s a very fast guy, put some speed on the other side,” Oates said. “Everybody’s pretty much played with each other and I think right now our top six can go with each other but I like the look of the line so far.”

The lines and pairings:

Marcus Johansson - Nicklas Backstrom - Alex Ovechkin

Wojtek Wolski - Mike Ribeiro - Troy Brouwer

Jason Chimera - Jay Beagle - Joel Ward / Tom Wilson

Matt Hendricks - Mathieu Perreault - Eric Fehr / Joey Crabb

Karl Alzner - John Carlson

Roman Hamrlik - Mike Green

Jeff Schultz - Cam Schilling

Jack Hillen - John Erskine
