The Marcus Johansson top-line experiment is over, replaced by Wojtek Wolski for the Washington Capitals’ game Thursday night against the Montreal Canadiens. Adam Oates tinkered with his lineup, dropping Johansson to the fourth line.

Alex Ovechkin was still on the right wing, with Wolski on the left.

Johansson is set to skate on the fourth line alongside Mathieu Perreault and Joey Crabb.

Matt Hendricks earned a promotion to second-line left wing with Mike Ribeiro and Troy Brouwer. He scored and fought twice in Tuesday night’s loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Eric Fehr, John Erskine and Jeff Schultz will be healthy scratches yet again.

Michal Neuvirth will start in goal.

Here are the lines and pairings:

Wojtek Wolski - Nicklas Backstrom - Alex Ovechkin

Matt Hendricks - Mike Ribeiro - Troy Brouwer

Jason Chimera - Jay Beagle - Joel Ward

Marcus Johansson - Mathieu Perreault - Joey Crabb

Karl Alzner - John Carlson

Mike Green - Tom Poti

Roman Hamrlik - Tomas Kundratek
