Tomas Kundratek has signed a two-year extension with the Washington Capitals, the team announced Tuesday.

The 23-year-old defenseman tallied seven points in his 25 games with Washington in 2013. He spent the bulk of the season with AHL Hershey, where he made the All-Star game while establishing career highs with 16 goals, 15 assists and 31 points in his 49 games with the Bears.

A native of the Czech Republic, Kundratek was acquired from the Rangers in November 2011 and played in five games for the Capitals that season before getting a bit more time in D.C. this year.
