Troy Brouwer is sick and not in the Washington Capitals’ lineup Tuesday night against the Boston Bruins. The right wing was told to stay home from the morning skate.
Brouwer is the Caps’ leading goal-scorer with nine. This is the first game he has missed since being traded from the Chicago Blackhawks in June 2011.
Left wing Wojtek Wolski replaced Brouwer in the lineup and on the second line. Eric Fehr moves back to the right side to accommodate him.
Defenseman Steve Oleksy is making his NHL debut against Boston. Braden Holtby is making his 10th straight start in goal, opposite Tuukka Rask.
Here are the lines and pairings:
Matt Hendricks – Mike Ribeiro – Alex Ovechkin
Wojtek Wolski – Nicklas Backstrom – Eric Fehr
Jason Chimera – Jay Beagle – Joel Ward
Aaron Volpatti – Mathieu Perreault – Joey Crabb
Karl Alzner - Tomas Kundratek
John Erskine - John Carlson
Tom Poti - Steve Oleksy
