Zimmerman second in All-Star voting

Ryan Zimmerman is starting to get some love from All-Star voters.

The Nationals third baseman jumped up two spots in this week’s ballot and is now in second place with 482,059 votes. He still lags well behind the Mets’ David Wright, who leads all NL third basemen with 685,972 votes, but he did leapfrog both Milwaukee’s Bill Hall and Atlanta’s Chipper Jones in the last week.

The current NL third basemen tallies:

1. David Wright, Mets                    685,792

2. Ryan Zimmerman, Nationals  482,059

3. Bill Hall, Brewers                       440,159

4. Chipper Jones, Braves             434,383

5. Pedro Feliz, Phillies                  349,818

Also, Adam Dunn has cracked the Top 15 in NL outfielders. He ranks 14th with 305,831 votes. No other Nationals are among the top five vote-getters at the other infield positions or in the top 15 among outfielders.
