Johnson out with shin contusion

First baseman Nick Johnson left Thursday’s game in the second inning with a left shin contusion after getting hit in the leg by a pitch in the first inning. Adam Dunn moved from left field to first base to replace him.

The sight of Johnson crumpling in the batter’s box had to be enough to scare any long-time Nationals fan; Johnson has been on the disabled list every year of his career and had played 38 games the last two seasons.

More as we get it.
