Boy, what a morning to arrive in Viera. Mark hits the drives, fairway irons and chips, and I come in for the 18-inch putt. And he’s on a flight back to snowy D.C. as we speak…

Anyway, wanted to post an update on a couple things. First, the Nationals have announced no plans to name Jim Bowden’s successor, and one club source I talked to this morning doesn’t expect that to happen until later in the week. The source said Mike Rizzo seems like the likely pick at this point. Stay tuned on that front.

Also, we’re going to try a few new things this year to better utilize having two writers on the Nats beat. One of our goals is to add more analysis online during games, and I’m going to try out Twitter during the next few weeks for some of that. You can check us out here. I’ll post updates and analysis during games, as well as links to anything we post on the blog. The idea is a work in progress, so let us know what you think of it.
