We’re humming right along here in the finale of the two-game series between the Astros and the Nationals. Washington trails 1-0, the difference being a pair of doubles from Miguel Tejadad and Ivan Rodriguez off Scott Olsen in the second inning.

The Nats, as of yet, haven’t been able to get much going against Roy Oswalt. Since Cristian Guzman’s leadoff single, he’s only allowed a walk (to Josh Willingham). Oswalt doesn’t walk many hitters, so the Nationals’ method of taking pitches in hopes of running up his pitch count probably won’t work so well today. Oswalt has thrown just 45 through three innings, even though his control hasn’t been exceptional (28 strikes). He’s very good at getting hitters to swing early in counts, though.

Ryan Zimmerman, by the way, is still stuck on 22. But he’s up next.
