Zimmerman gets to 26

It’s becoming a broken record: Ryan Zimmerman gets a hit in his first at-bat to extend his hitting streak.

The Nationals third baseman did it yet again tonight, singling sharply through the left side of the infield in the top of the first inning at Chase Field. That’s now 26 straight games with a base hit for Zimmerman.

It’s the longest streak in the majors in two years, the longest since Moises Alou (then with the Mets) hit in 30 straight games in 2007.
