Maryland-Boston College: 8 p.m.

MarylandMusburglarslightly irresponsible fun

\ This time slot has everything to do with Heisman Trophy candidate Matt Ryan – who has another 8 p.m. ABC date this Saturday against Florida State – and nothing to do with Maryland. Take Ryan out of the equation and give Boston College one loss instead of none, and I’d bet a dozen Krispy Kremes this game would start by 3:30, if not sooner.\

\ I have all of Maryland’s game times and television assignments since 1997 in a nifty little file, and the Terps hadn’t played an 8 p.m. regular season game since the 2002 Kickoff Classic against Notre Dame.\

\ This will be two in four weeks. That’s a deadline disaster, so count me among those unenthusiastic about a game ending at 11:30 p.m.\

\ But at least the fans will be happy – well, until Ryan and the Eagles produce some fireworks, anyway.\
